A good start for today

This morning I walked on the treadmill for about 40 minutes covering 2.14 miles. I will try to walk another mile tonight. I did this yesterday and hope to repeat this trend at least 5 days out of the week.

Weight Watchers Plus Program

Well, I really fell off the wagon for awhile but I got back on March 2, 2011. I joined Weight Watchers and am doing the new Plus Points with great results. I weighed in at 236.2 pounds and I have lost some every week since joining. I am now down to 205 pounds for a total lost of 31.2 pounds. I am giving myself a pat on the back. I haven't been posting to this blog as I wanted to make sure I stuck to the program and after almost 16 weeks, I think I am stuck to the new Weight Watchers Plus Points program. I am keeping a 3 month journal and writing down everything I eat. I am hopping to be below 200 lbs by mid August when we go on vacation back to Iowa. I think at age 66 I finally got my head on straight about losing weight.

Lost 3 Pounds

Weighed in this morning and I am down 3 pounds. I stalled at the beginning of the week, then realized I was drinking 2 to 3 cans of diet pepsi every day. So cut back to 1 can or none and the scale moved again.

First Week Done

Today was the end of my first week of my Atkins Diet. I lost 8 pounds!!!! I didn't have too much trouble this week. Some meal times I wasn't even hungry. Some leg pain. I did some exercise, but not too much. Heel spur caused me some problems. Hope to exercise more next week. All in all, I am happy with the first weeks results.

My weight loss journey begins

I need to lose some weight. A lot of weight. Since I am 65 years old, I know it will be harder than when I was younger. My high weight was 235 pounds just last week. So I went out and bought Atkins Diet books and special foods and have started on my new weight loss journey. I started this diet on Sat. Aug.21st. Today is my 3rd day and I am doing ok. I am eating eggs, meat, salads with low carb dressing and drinking plenty of water. I am starting with a weight of 233 pounds. Right now I am suffering with a heel spur so walking for exercise is out. I do ride my exercise bike every other day for now. What I don't like is going to the bathroom 2 or 3 times a night. I know this will get better later on in a week or two. I am going to set a goal to reach 175 pounds. If and when I reach that goal, I will consider lowering it. So here I go on my new weight loss journey!
